About the skill

What it does

Starting from your product, your economics (LTV/CAC) and customer behavior, it designs a launch-ready referral or affiliate program. The core architecture is the source method's Referral Loop: Trigger Moment → Share Action → Convert Referred → Reward → (Loop). It instantiates each link concretely:

  • Trigger moments: right after the first "aha" moment, milestone completion, exceptional support, renewal/upgrade — the high-intent windows.
  • Share mechanism: ranked by effectiveness (in-product sharing > personal link > email invite > social > offline referral code).
  • Incentive structure: single-sided, double-sided or tiered — matched to ticket size and budget. The measured advantage of double-sided and tiered structures (lift in participation and sharing) is recommended with rationale.
  • Fraud prevention, a launch email sequence and a 30-day launch checklist.

It also clarifies the referral vs. affiliate decision by B2B/B2C and ticket size, and leaves a KPI skeleton for measurement: referral rate, conversion, active referrers, K-factor and program ROI.

When to use it

When building a referral/affiliate program from scratch; when an existing program shows low participation/conversion and needs optimization; when you want a systematic answer to "how do my customers bring me customers"; or when you want to productize word-of-mouth into a measurable loop. For launch-specific virality pair with launch; for nurture sequences, emails.

The Referral Loop (Trigger→Share→Convert→Reward), the single/double/tiered incentive model, the share-mechanism effectiveness ranking, the referral-vs-affiliate decision matrix, an A/B testing protocol (incentive/message/placement), the "Common Problems & Fixes" diagnostic table, and K-factor (K = invites × conversion) for viral-loop economics — enriched with industry benchmarks: SaaS referral rate ~3–5%, software referral conversion median ~7.9%, sizable participation lift from double-sided incentives; referred customers showing 16–25% higher LTV and 18–37% lower churn; well-run programs landing in a 300–500% ROI range.
