About the skill

What it does

Takes an ICP (ideal customer profile) definition and turns it into a verified, scored, outreach-ready lead sheet. It handles three sales motions separately: B2B SaaS (ICP fit + tech-stack match + growth signals), general B2B (industry + size + geography + trigger events), and local SMB (active business + website status + proximity + decision-maker access). Each branch has its own qualification definition and data sources, but the five-phase framework stays constant.

The five phases: (1) Define the ICP — firmographic/technographic fit, buying signal, decision-maker profile and disqualifiers; a one-paragraph ICP plus a pass/fail checklist. (2) Build the candidate list — source 2-3x the target (qualification culls hard), cross-verify across 2-3 sources. (3) Qualify each candidate — an evidence URL and confidence level per claim (High = 2 independent sources, Medium, Low). (4) Score and prioritize — Hot/Warm/Cold/Skip rubric (target ratio ~20% Hot, ~30% Warm). (5) Output the lead sheet — score, company, contact, why-it's-a-prospect, source, confidence, verified date; then Top Outreach Targets (the best 3-5 Hot leads).

Compliance is strict: no bulk scraping, no CAPTCHA/login-wall bypass, public business channels only, source URL + date per contact (GDPR/CAN-SPAM/CASL lineage). Email contacts never enter the list without passing a Truelist/validator deliverability check.

When to use it

The list-building and qualification phase before outbound: "build a prospect list", "lead gen list", "ICP-fit accounts", "who should we go after", "find businesses near me", "businesses without websites", "find B2B/SaaS companies that…". After the list is built, cold-email writes the outbound copy and competitor-profiling does deep single-account research — those are separate skills.
