What it does
It writes a multi-email automated flow end to end, from trigger to conversion. First it nails down the sequence type (welcome, lead nurture, onboarding, re-engagement, post-purchase, sales), the entry trigger, the primary conversion goal, and the audience's relationship stage. Then it produces the sequence email by email: for each one a send time, subject line (40-60 chars, "Clear > Clever"), preview text (90-140 chars that completes the thought without repeating the subject), full body copy, and one clear CTA. The flow opens with a Sequence Overview (name / trigger / goal / length / timing / exit conditions) and closes with a Metrics Plan of what to measure against benchmarks.
When to use it
When standing up a new welcome series, lead-nurture sequence, product onboarding flow, a re-engagement campaign for 30-60 day inactive users, or a post-purchase sequence; when rewriting an existing flow whose open/click/conversion metrics trail benchmark; whenever "what emails, in what order, at what cadence" needs a launch-ready answer. For cold outreach use cold-email; for in-app onboarding use onboarding.
Method / frameworks
Built on four core principles: One Email, One Job (single purpose + single primary CTA), Value Before Ask (earn the right to sell with content first), Relevance Over Volume (fewer, segmented, sharper), Clear Path Forward (every email moves them somewhere). Length and cadence are templated by type (welcome 5-7 over 12-14 days; lead nurture 6-8 over 2-3 weeks; re-engagement 3-4 over 2 weeks). Copy follows Hook → Context → Value → CTA → Sign-off, mobile-first formatting, and length by type (transactional 50-125, educational 150-300, story 300-500 words). It applies subject-line patterns (question / how-to / number / direct / story-tease) and timing calls like avoiding weekends for B2B. The Metrics Plan uses post-MPP realistic thresholds — automation flows target open >45%, click >4% — and prioritizes beyond-open metrics like CTOR and conversion.
