About the skill

What it does

ASO Listing Audit systematically audits an App Store or Google Play listing against ASO best practices, producing a 0-100 scorecard and a prioritized action plan. It detects the store type from the URL, fetches live listing data (title, subtitle/short description, description, screenshots, video, rating, reviews, category, update date, localizations), then scores.

Before scoring, it places the app into a brand-maturity tier — Dominant (1M+ ratings, brand = keyword), Established (100K+ ratings), Challenger (most apps). This calibration matters: a deliberate design choice by a household name is not penalized the same way as a missed opportunity by an unknown app.

When to use

  • You share an App Store / Google Play URL and ask "why isn't it being downloaded", "improve visibility", "improve conversion"
  • You want to compare your listing against 2-3 competitors and surface keyword gaps
  • You want a pre-launch quality gate on listing metadata and visual assets
  • You need concrete, character-counted recommendations on ranking, visibility, or install conversion

Method / frameworks

The audit runs across 6 weighted dimensions: Title & Subtitle (20%), Description (15%), Visual Assets (25%), Ratings & Reviews (20%), Metadata & Freshness (10%), Conversion Signals (10%) — a weighted sum out of 100 mapped to an A–F grade. Apple vs Google indexing differences are internalized: Apple's hidden 100-byte keyword field + non-indexed long description + screenshot captions (indexed since 2025); Google's indexed 4,000-char full description (target 2-3% keyword density) but no hidden keyword field. Benchmarks are data-grounded: 4.5+ rated apps install ~1.7x vs sub-4.0; ~90% of users never scroll past the first 3 screenshots; preview video +15-35% conversion; Apple Custom Product Pages +5.9% avg organic lift; top-3 keyword ranking ~4.6x daily installs vs ranks 8-15. Output is always specific ("change subtitle from X to Y" with character counts) and explicitly flags metrics requiring paid tools (search volume, exact rankings).

How do I use this skill?

You don't "run" a skill — after installing it you just tell the agent your task (e.g. ask for the relevant job), and the skill kicks in by itself when its description matches.
